Shadows falling in the Cuillin Hills
Late spring evening on the Inaccessible Pinnacle, Cuillin Hills, Skye
05·06·09 Shadows falling in the Cuillin Hills

I promised some more Cuillin Ridge shots, so here's one of the Inaccessible Pinnacle - the only Munro which requires a rock climb to get to the summit.

I was on Skye helping with the filming of a new BBC Four documentary about the Munros, but I might hold back some of the action shots I took until the programme goes out in the autumn.

The climbers shadowed on the rock were actually a group we'd held up for 20 minutes or so while we finished filming. They were a bit annoyed about this, but good relations were restored once we'd plied them with fruit and water.

The Cuillins are notoriously dry and dehydration is a real problem for those attempting the ridge in one push. Having lugged 12 litres of water up the hill for the crew, I was more than happy to give these guys what we had left.

The shadow on the far right is me.

This is so amazing! I wonder where were you in the photo. I guess the first shadow from the right! It looks like a firm photographer's stand with steady hands! Amazing!
